When Jem and Sarah Trewhella of Mudgeon Vean near Helston, Cornwall, asked us to create a brand for their range of farm produce, the main criterion was that, as they were both born and bred in Cornwall, they should promote the Helford region alongside their growing range of apple juices, apple juice blends and cyders.

We started to create the right mood for the Helford Creek by using an image of their 17th century farmhouse, nestling amongst trees on their farm. The colours here gave a solid rustic feel,and became the origin of the colours for their brand. A similar style has been used ever since on different products in their range. Most of the images are taken within walking distance of their farm. This centres their brand and their values on the landscape of the Helford area and transfers these qualities of beauty and regional identity when their bottled juices are sold both locally and further afield.

It would have been easy to create a  range of labels whose designs mimic national brands, but the unique quality of their product is reflected in the labels. With some careful planning and knowledge of the area, our photographer Mark Edwards, took photo's in and around the Helford. At present there are 5 different products bearing these labels, Apple Juice, Apple and Pear Juice, Apple and Raspberry Juice, Elderflower Presse and Cyder.

After initially designing a logo and family of labels and marketing materials - including their liveried delivery fleet - our work has also encompassed an online store for ordering juice and cyders. Explore the website and indulge yourself by buying and tasting these outstanding juices. They are now available at many outlets in Cornwall including English Heritage and National Trust Properties, resturants and visitor attractions. Sales of their products are increasing In London - now available at The Borough Market, The National Gallery, The British Museum, and Kew Gardens, all selling them like hot cakes or mulled cyder!
